Maria graduated from the University of the Philippines in 2002 and completed her Australian Accreditation in 2004. She has also completed a Post Graduate Certificate of Sports Physiotherapy from La Trobe University in 2010.

Since having her own baby, Maria has developed a special interest in Women's Health and Pelvic floor dysfunction. She has attended numerous post-graduate professional development courses in this area including treatment for pre and post-natal women for conditions such as but not limited to; pregnancy-related back pain, symphysis pubic dsyfunction, pelvic organ prolapse, stress and urge urinary incontinence, urgency, constipation, as well as dyspareunia(vaginismus) and pelvic girdle pain. Maria uses therapeutic ultrasound in treating mastitis or blocked milk ducts. She also uses Muscle Energy Techniques for treating Sacroiliac joint dysfunction and injuries.

Maria has also attended both the basic and advanced baby wearing consultancy course through Die Trageschule, Dresden (Germany) which enables her to advise mothers on the correct way to fit different baby slings and carriers, as well as what carrier would be most appropriate for their needs. 

Maria also has extensive experience in Aquatic Physiotherapy. She served on the Aquatic Special Interest Group committee in the Australian Physiotherapy Association and tutored other physiotherapist’s on previous hydrotherapy courses.

Maria was previously the physiotherapist for Hunters Hill Rugby. She has provided physiotherapy services for several private schools, including SCEGS Redlands and Sydney Grammar School, for sports such as Rugby Union, Basketball, Hockey, and Soccer. She has also covered State Age Netball Finals, as well as NSW Netball at the Anne Clarke Centre.
